• How Traveler Kathy Rudolph Petrino Sees New Orleans

  • Thank goodness that Kathy Rudolph Petrino loves to write about her frequent travels. She is a very prolific tourist, but for the rest of us, her generosity is a gift. She writes about everything because she would like all of her readers to visit the same places she has enjoyed, while also avoiding the occasional difficulties that pop up when traveling anywhere. By sending many more people to the same places, those places will thrive and make it more likely she’ll be able to go back if she wants. One favorite Kathy Rudolph Petrino destinations is the City of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Whether one refers to it by its name, or by its acronym, NOLA, or by its nickname, “The Big Easy,” the area conjures great images of unending jazz and great food. There is no doubt the city has been knocked for a loop at times, especially in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, but there is still more than enough life in New Orleans. It is a truly great and fun place to visit, in ways that make it far different than most other cities. For instance, NOLA is famous for the panoply of scents that emanate from the round-the-clock cooking of scrumptious French-inspired Creole and Cajun food that goes on. Besides tasty food, though, the city lives up to its motto, “Laissez les bons temps rouler!” (“Let the good times roll!”), characterized by the sounds of jazz and blues wafting through the New Orleans air. Between the myriad live clubs and the street performers who appear nearly every block, it’s hard to miss the music.
